Personal ideas and preferences play a big role
- Each ligature influences the transient behaviour of the tones
- It also influences the decay when the tone ends. Pay attention to the resonance when the tone ends.
- What timbres does it produce? What overtones does it produce?
- Can the ligature follow the impulses of the player? Dynamics/ Accents/ Expression
- Can she even inspire Him in His play?
- How is the playing feeling, do the lips get tired quickly or do they become powerless. This danger exists with heavy and rigid models.
- How is the carrying capacity of the sound in the hall? To find out, place a mic at the back of the room and rely on the feedback of someone listening in the room.
- How is the mixing ability with other instruments? What are your expectations in this regard?
- Does it sound focused?
- Is it balanced in the registers
- Do individual notes have a wolf
The Ligature, developed by me and handcrafted together with the goldsmith Brigitte Brüschweiler, brings out all the playing characteristics desired by a clarinettist to life in the most beautiful and best way.
It is unrivalled in all its properties, but must be handled with great care.
The ligatures are only made on request. Test possibilities will be available from Juli 2021 at Hanstoni Kaufmann.
